Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AuthWriter (“AuthWriter,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit and interact with this website (authwriter.com).
1. What we collect
A) Account information
When you create an account, we collect and store:
- Email address
- Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing—never stored in plain text)
We use your email to identify your account, provide account access, and send important service-related messages.
B) Device fingerprint (fraud prevention)
We collect a device fingerprint to help prevent abuse (for example, creating multiple trial accounts on the same device). We use this strictly for:
- enforcing trial/account limits, and
- protecting AuthWriter from fraud and misuse.
We do not use device fingerprinting to track you across unrelated websites or services.
C) Marketing emails (optional / limited)
We may use your email to send occasional product updates or marketing messages. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in those emails.
D) Website local storage (site preferences + demo preview)
Our website uses local storage in your browser to save theme preferences and limited information used by the on-page app preview. You can clear this at any time by:
- clicking Reset Demo in the preview settings, and/or
- clearing your browser’s site data.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account
- provide and maintain the AuthWriter website and trial system
- prevent fraud and misuse (device fingerprinting)
- communicate with you (service notices and optional marketing)
- improve site and product experience (non-identifying preferences)
3. Data retention
- Email/account data: retained while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business purposes (e.g., account access, billing/subscription status).
- Device fingerprint: retained only as needed to enforce trial/account limits and prevent abuse.
- Local storage (website): stored on your device until you reset the demo or clear browser data.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when necessary to operate the AuthWriter website, such as:
- service providers that support essential operations (e.g., hosting, payment processing, email delivery), under appropriate safeguards
5. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information using administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and reduce risk.
6. Children’s privacy
AuthWriter is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Terms of Service
Your use of AuthWriter is also governed by our Terms of Service, which cover eligibility, subscriptions, licensing, acceptable use, disclaimers, and more:
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date and post the revised policy here.
